Embodying the Divine Mother: A Women’s Bhakti Yoga Retreat

Are you ready to experience yourself as an embodiment of the Divine Mother? Imagine waking every day to a deep sense of your own sacredness. What daily practices do you strive to cultivate to elevate beyond the Mundane, and infuse each breath with a deep knowing of your soul’s purpose? As Bhaktas, we must learn to set the stage so that we may fully see our own Divine reflection. We must follow our yearnings to create an atmosphere for Divine embodiment. She is already there within us, but easily remains veiled.

In this retreat we will set the stage for that veil to drop. You will learn spiritual practices that will lead to uncovering the Divine Mother within and moving into full embodiment of the Goddess in her many forms. Just as you express many sides to your own unique personality, the Goddess wears many faces. Each day we will experience Puja to the Divine Mother, guided meditation, and Bhakti Vinyasa Yoga to nurture and transform our beautiful bodies.

The Lotus Conference Center at Yogaville Satchidananda Ashram will be our home for this retreat. Located on 750 acres of tranquil countryside in Central Virginia, sitting high atop an overlook, the Center offers comfortable and modern accommodations with plenty of privacy. We will be free to explore the breathtaking grounds and Sacred Sites of the Ashram, including the Lotus Temple, Nataraja Shrine, and Guru Bhavan. Swami Satchidananda’s wish was for as many people as possible to experience Supreme Peace and Joy and to learn to actively share that Peace and Joy with one and all. Together, we will sink into the shared experience of cultivating that heartspace.

With open minds and hearts, we will delve deeply into music and Sacred Chant practices that will deliver us to a state of ONENESS: with the heart, the breath, and one another. Through Mantra classes, Harmonium Workshops, and Vocal Harmony explorations, we will spend our afternoons fully immersed in the state of Bhav: an intense awareness of the existence of the Divine that will carry over into our day-to-day life activities.

We will take time for slowing down, exploring and connecting with nature; as well ample time for self care: reflection, journaling, and group sharing. And we will spend our evenings engaged in Kirtan Celebration to embody the fruits of our practices! Through this experience of this Oneness, the Divine Mother within is awakened. We become an ocean of compassion, transformed in Ma’s image. The time is now....Goddess AWAKE!
