Kirtan Immersions with Mirabai Moon

If you have ever wanted to learn to play harmonium, lead a Kirtan Chant, or just sink more deeply into your devotional yoga practice, then drop in for this sweet exploration of harmonium and chant with Mirabai Moon.

Nothing compares to the feeling we get when we chant together, but we can still find ways to drop in to this zone when we are alone (All-ONE).  This is one of the reasons I have started teaching harmonium workshops, because more and more Bhaktas are wanting to add the magical drone of the harmonium to their solo practice, and share the experience with others.  There is something that happens when we close our eyes and begin to pump the bellows of the harmonium and breath with it.  Something inside gets very still.  It's like diving into a deep well.  The harmonium can be played in a very simple way and adds such a wonderful dimension to mantra practice.  It gives me such joy to give people access to this.

In this workshop you will learn the basic mechanics of how to work a harmonium.  You will learn several very simple beginner friendly kirtan chants, so you can get started chanting while playing the harmonium right away with confidence and ease.  And you will be given chant sheets to bring home with you, so you can continue to practice your newly acquired skills at home.

For information on upcoming harmonium workshops or private harmonium lessons, please contact Mirabai Moon at info@mysticalkirtan.com

On this Autumn Equinox, join us for a focused afternoon of exploring the nature and power of thoughts and the means to uplift one's life through developing mastery of thought.

Autumn Equinox is one of two days out of the year when the days and nights are equal in length. It marks a shift between the summer and winter energies and is a time of balance and pause. The autumn equinox symbolizes equilibrium and a momentary halt between light and darkness. It is a time to practice gratitude for the bright spots of the year and clear the way for a new beginning.

This program will be in Satsang format and will consist of approximately 30% theory and 70% practice.

Practice includes Peace Meditation, Chanting (Kirtan) and Discussion along with other Practices.

Satsang is a Sanskrit term derived from two roots: sat meaning "true’" and "sangha" meaning community, company or association. It can be translated as "associating with good people" or simply "being in the company of truth," and refers to the act of gathering with like-minded, uplifting people, especially those on a spiritual path.

Please bring a vegan or vegetarian potluck dish to share. We will be breaking bread together between 2 and 3 pm.

Suggested donation $25-45, no one turned away for lack of funds.

Be Still And Know Retreat with Swami Sankarananda

 —  —

Amethyst Retreat Center, 44 Buffalo Creek Rd., Duncannon, PA 17020

Please join us for a transformative three-day experience that stills the mind and settles matters of the heart. Deepen your experience of life through silence, meditation, chanting, yoga asana and the teachings of the great Yogis.

Swami Sankarananda will guide us through the majority of the retreat, sharing wisdom to inspire transcendence from living in fear, to living in peace & harmony. We will explore practices designed to help us re-discover the sacred silence within and to connect profoundly with our authentic selves. The wisdom teaching of Yoga and Yogic practices will help us to both experience and to sustain inner connection and awareness.

Why practice silence... Silence is peace. In a world that seems to become ever more complex and busy, it is important to take time to turn within and experience silence. There is no better cure for what ails us than to be silent, and yet we do not know how to be truly silent. To merely stop talking is not really to be silent. If one stops talking but the racing thoughts are there, it will cause heat and agitation in the mind. Yoga provides practical techniques for bringing silence and peace to the mind, which helps one reconnect with the true Self.
